Our Team

Rona - Debt Centre Manager

“Nothing is more thrilling than to see someone go ‘DEBT FREE’ having felt true despair, isolation and hopelessness.

As Centre Manager here at CAP Sutton, I lead a team of caring volunteers who want to see people find hope amongst life’s scars and unmanageable debt.

Our work is challenging but the rewards far outweigh all we do in serving others in our community.

As a Centre, we are on hand to help with more than debt. Often, we find ourselves helping with Emergency shops or arranging food or energy vouchers to help families through financial crises. We’ve even helped provide and fit curtains for tenants with no adequate privacy as well as a wall-to-wall rug for a gentleman in need of flooring.

Sutton CAP Debt Centre has been running since 2009 and I’m blessed to have been its Manager since 2019.”

Shernaz - Debt Coach

“Almost 5 years ago I trained to be a debt coach at CAP Head office in Bradford. I had felt that this was the right move for me but had to be patient until the timing was right.

It has been a privilege to go into people’s homes and come alongside them on their journey out of debt. Seeing people’s lives change as they find freedom from the huge burden that debt places on them has been a joy and makes the hard moments worthwhile.”

Michael - Debt Coach

“I was attracted to this role while listening to a talk about CAP in my local church, particularly its debt counselling service. I retired a few years ago from HM Revenue & Customs, and one of my many roles there was in the Debt Management Unit. While CAP’s role and HMRC’s role might seem to contradict each other, the objectives were the same i.e. to minimise debt. What I felt was a calling to use my previous experience and interactions with people in debt in a more helpful and compassionate way.”
